Always Focused on Quality
Every attendee is individually reviewed. We prioritize fit, quality, and mutual value over attendance numbers.
Relationships begin through thoughtful matching.
We would rather host a smaller room with the right people than a larger room with the wrong people.
Many relationships continue for years after the event concludes.
Most managers who attend our events come to us by referrals from allocators or other managers, but we are also happy to have managers or allocators reach out to us directly.
From there, every conversation is handled personally. A member of our team will be in touch to tell you more and answer your questions.
We usually set up a short call to understand your strategy, your edge, and what kind of allocators you are seeking. Every fund is vetted for quality, fit, and differentiation.
The objective is not to maximize attendance.
The objective is to maximize value for all attendees.

Luis de Santangel was the treasurer to the Royal Court of Spain in 1491, when Ferdinand and Isabella refused to finance the voyage of Christopher Columbus. Dejected, the then-unknown sailor was on his way to petition the King of France when a rider intercepted him with a message: Santangel had convinced the Spanish monarchs to change their minds. Santangel’s quiet role in what became one of history’s greatest investments is the inspiration for our name.
In this spirit, we began building a network of young, undiscovered investment talent—and those allocators who share our interest in finding this talent — nearly twenty years ago.
In 2008 we started our free Value Links mailing list, a weekly digest of articles and interviews of interest to our network. Value Links currently has over 8,500 subscribers.
In 2010, we founded Santangel’s Review to publish original research on outstanding money managers who were not well known to the wider community of fund allocators.
In 2012, we held our first Santangel’s event in New York City. Today, nearly 15 years and 30 events later, we produce four events each year in three cities and have made over 7,500 introductions.
